Image with CS Breckinridge Belt Plate
Item #: OS-6252
This is a sixth plate ambrotype. The subject is a Confederate cavalryman from the Deep South. Though an ambrotype shows in reverse, his belt plate can easily be recognized as a CS Breckenridge plate. He holds a Louis Haiman & Brother cavalry sword and has its scabbard on his side. He has a Whitney revolver tucked into his belt. The great hat sets it all off perfectly. Confederate buckles shown in images are a collecting genre all their own and much rarer than the buckles themselves. The image is in very good condition, has good contrast and the subject matter is not to be surpassed! Housed in a perfect, grape pattern gutta percha full case. |
