1st National Flag Flown Over Corinth, Mississippi
Item #: OS-6718
![]() Note the white hoist, this is the end of the exhibition backing ![]() ![]() This shows the fly end folded back, to shorten the length ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This large Confederate First National Flag was reportedly flown over the Court House in Corinth, Mississippi during the Confederate occupation. The flag is too large (130 x 70 inches) to be framed, or at least it would be impractical to do so. It was examined and authenticated by Textile Preservation Assoc. (Fonda Thomsen) in 1999 and her report is posted above. At that time, Textile Preservation sewed it to a strong backing so that it could be exhibited, much as the Stonewall Jackson flag was displayed in the Battle Abbey, viz... hung from the ceiling against a wall. If you have the space to hang such a large flag, it is much to your advantage, because so few have such space, the flag can be purchased for only $12,000.00. See above for the full report. Price $12,000.00 USD
