|Description and Photograph||
The Carte De Visite shown here was produced by Samuel Anderson at his 61 Camp Street studio. Anderson is best known for his images of Washington Artillerymen, that knowledge and the red tint on the cuffs and cap, combined with the Louisiana State Seal belt plate he is wearing, all but assures that the subject is one of the elite Corps of Artillerymen that New Orleans sent to the War.
The CDV is in perfect condition. The buttons and belt plate are gilted, but under magnification, it is easily discernable that the plate is one of the state seals bearing the Pelican feeding her young with the blood of her breast.
The CDV is perfect. Flawless!!!
