About Old South Military Antiques

Personal Biography

We Buy High Quality Confederate Items!

Shannon Pritchard has lived on the battlefields around Richmond, Virginia, since the time of his birth in 1962; having literally lived on the Gaines Mill Battlefield.  He has been hunting and collecting Confederate antiques for more than thirty-five years and has been for the last fifteen years a full time Confederate Antiques dealer.  His love of all things Confederate prompted him to found www.oldsouthantiques.com, which has grown into the largest all Confederate antiques dealership in the world.

Shannon has authored numerous articles relating to the authentication, care and conservation of Confederate antiques, including several cover articles for North South Trader's Civil War, The Civil War Courier, The Civil War News and other War Between the States periodicals, and is the author of the definitive work on Confederate collectibles, the widely acclaimed Collecting the Confederacy, Artifacts and Antiques from the War Between the States, and Confederate Faces in Color.  He is a current Vice-President of the Civil War Dealers and Collectors Association Board of Directors.

He also does speaking engagements relating to the investment opportunities, joys and pitfalls of collecting Confederate memorabilia.  Shannon is a current or past member of the Civil War Preservation Trust, the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association, the Captain William Latane Camp Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Museum of the Confederacy, the North American Vexillogical Association, the National Rifle Association, the Southeastern Arms Collectors Association, the Hanover Historical Society, Southern Historical Society and the Texas Gun Collectors Association.  Shannon supports and does consultations for the Museum of the Confederacy, the Virginia Historical Society, Tredegar National Historic Site, Fort Worth Civil War Museum and Historic Hanover Tavern as well as private and corporate consultations for authenticity and market value.

Old South Military Antiques, LLC offers textile analysis and conservation for Confederate flags and uniforms.

He, his wife Lesia and son Caleb make their home at Hickory Hill Plantation, Ashland, Virginia.

May God Bless You and Yours,
Shannon, Lesia & Caleb Pritchard
